Photography underscores what connects us and makes us human.
Through my role leading a nonprofit centered on the public humanities, every day brings experiences that underscore the marvelous contradiction of humanity: how we are each such unique individuals, and yet how deep down, as human beings we are all the same.
For me, photography is a powerful tool for illuminating both our unique individuality and our common humanity. It also reveals the beauty that is all around us, if we just look for it.
