As photographing birds took me more and more into beautiful natural places, I also turned my lens towards open landscapes. I have grown to feel that the openness of the Great Plains is where I feel most at home.

Chimney Rock east of Scottsbluff, Nebraska. For people driving around western Nebraska, Chimney Rock is one of the most recognizable landmarks. It also used to help guide settlers on their westward migration in the 19th century.

A trip to Scotland in the summer of 2025 provided no shortage of landscape photo opportunities, such as this view from our accommodations in the Isle of Skye.

Urban settings are also irresistible to me for landscape photography. For example, this walk across the Brooklyn Bridge.
